Help for grown-ups

How to start

Match each sea treasure to its picture column. Build the columns from the bottom, then answer the comparison question using the filled spaces.

What your child practices

Sorting by kind, representing quantities in aligned columns, and comparing more, fewer, or the same.

Make it easier or try a challenge

A gentler start

Name one column's picture together. Let your child place a treasure, then find the next empty space in that column.

A little more thinking

Predict how adding one treasure will change the comparison. Show how pairing across the two columns checks the answer.

These are ways to support or extend play together. Your child can point, act, or explain; saying the answer aloud is optional.

Little hints & worksheet answers

Do both columns start at the same line? Which filled spaces have no partner?

For a worksheet, match its picture and age before opening a hint or answer.

Cut equal-sized paper squares in two colors. Sort them into columns starting at one line, without gaps. Compare the columns and move one square to see what changes.
