How to start
In the first tasks, choose the treasure matching the one on the scale. Later, use each treasure's weight dots to choose what makes both pans equal, including anything already on the pan.
What your child practices
Matching objects, combining represented weights, and finding a missing part of an equal total.
Make it easier or try a challenge
A gentler start
Begin with Shell twins. Compare the shell's outline and details with one choice at a time.
A little more thinking
In a weight task, predict the missing weight before choosing a treasure. Show why different collections of treasures can have the same total weight dots.
These are ways to support or extend play together. Your child can point, act, or explain; saying the answer aloud is optional.
Little hints & worksheet answers

Use identical large blocks as units. Make a group of four on one side and a group of two on the other. Add blocks to match, then rearrange them and compare again.
