Help for grown-ups

How to start

Look at the example before and after the magic change. Decide whether it grows, shrinks, gains one, or loses one. Choose the result that applies the same change to the new picture, then check.

What your child practices

Recognizing a transformation and applying the same rule to another object or group.

Make it easier or try a challenge

A gentler start

Describe just the change in the example together before looking at the answer pictures. Let your child choose the result.

A little more thinking

Predict the result before comparing the choices. Then show how to reverse the change using a drawing or household objects.

These are ways to support or extend play together. Your child can point, act, or explain; saying the answer aloud is optional.

Little hints & worksheet answers

Look from the first picture to the next. What changed, and what stayed the same?

For a worksheet, match its picture and age before opening a hint or answer.

Open worksheet answers
Try it away from the screen

Set out two socks and keep another nearby. Add one and describe the change. Remove one, then invite your child to show how the two actions undo each other.
