Before you begin
- Four pages, one per level — ages 2.5–3, 4, 5 and 6–7
- US Letter, prints on plain paper
- A grown-up can read the directions aloud
- The picture gets hidden, so the amount has to be held in the head
- The first page is in color, the other three print clean in black and white
- “Print at 100%” marked on every page
Print on US Letter at 100%. Check the ruler against the length printed on your page. Ages are a guide: pointing, talking, and trying together all count.

A little guidance
On the ages 6–7 card, sort by a visible leaf marking. Then cover the picture and recall each group’s size.
Let your child show their thinking. Repeat a comfortable level or try the next one when they want a new challenge.
